Instatour tips Den Haag

For the English version you have to scroll all way down. Afgelopen jaar heb ik een 2 daagse instatour Den Haag op 15 en 16 december 2018 mogen meemaken. Dit tweedaagse evenement werd georganiseerd door Iamsterdam en The Hague marketing van Thisisthehague/Denhaag.com. Lees verder wat de instatour tips in Den Haag zijn.

Dag 1

Indigo hotel
Indigo hotel werd gekozen als ontmoetingsplaats. Ik maakte daar kennis met de gids en de groep. We kregen een rondleiding van de gids door de Gold Bar en de grote kluis.

Royal Christmas Fair
Een jaarlijks terugkerende populaire kerstmarkt op het Lange Voorhout.


Het is de grootste en gezellige kerstmarkt van Nederland.


De kerstverlichting en de vuurtjes overal maken het geheel sfeervol.


Er staan verschillende leuke kraampjes waar je bijvoorbeeld kerstinkopen kan doen.


Veel live entertainment en eettentjes voor de hartige en zoete trek.


Een Kerstman die daar rond paradeert en waar mensen graag met hem op de foto willen staan.

 
De Royal Chrismas Fair was afgelopen vorig jaar december een stuk groter dan voorgaande jaren.
Al met al een geweldige ervaring om daar te zijn. Dit jaar, 2019 begint de 6e editie van Royal Christmas Fair vanaf 12 tot en met 23 december. Info: https://www.royalchristmasfair.nl/

Des Indes hotel
Hotel Des Indes is een 5 sterrenhotel aan het Lange Voorhout en bestaat sinds 1881. Het kreeg de huidige naam geïnspireerd op het destijds beroemde Hotel Des Indes in de Batavia in de hoop reizigers uit Nederlands-Indië aan te trekken. 


Vele beroemde gasten hebben van het hotel gebruik van gemaakt. Een rondleiding door openbare gedeeltes van het Indes hotel was indrukwekkend.


Het interieur is klassiek met moderne details. Mijn foodiehartje begon plots te kloppen toen ik de gingerbreadhouse zag.






Ik had daar wel een hap van willen nemen, maar dat zou het hotel niet kunnen waarderen. Ik wil de luxe high tea daar een keer doen. Info Des Indes hotel: https://www.hoteldesindes.nl/
Walter Benedict
Het werd al donker en we liepen richting Walter Benedict aan de Denneweg 69A voor het driegangen diner. Walter Benedict is een café bistro. Het is een eenvoudige eetgelegenheid, die in het midden houdt tussen een café en een restaurant.
En ook al was het druk en gehorig op de betreffende avond, het sfeer was wel aangenaam.
De ruimte was sfeervol verlicht dat mij ook het gevoel geeft in een café te zijn. Een tafel voor 9 personen was gereserveerd voor ons.


Voor het driegangen diner koos ik als voorgerecht een carpaccio met ingelegde vijg, rode biet, gebakken beukenzwammetjes in balsamico dressing met krokante kappertjes.


Als hoofdgerecht gebakken kabeljauw met kort gestoofde zeekraal, spinazie, enoki, romige truffelsaus & frisse antiboise met franse frites.


En als laatste een dessert bestaande uit een Crêpe Suzette met grand marnier saus, sinaasappel en frozen yoghurt. Het driegangen-diner was overheerlijk. Meer info: http://www.walterbenedict.nl/

Na het diner liep ik met de groep nog naar het Binnenhof voor The Hague Highlight event 2018, Old Masters New Heroes video projectie.
Dit Haagse lichtevenement was vorig jaar georganiseerd door Feest aan Zee ter viering van het 200 jarige badplaats Scheveningen. Meer info: https://www.feestaanzee.nl/

Dag 2

Het Mauritshuis
We kregen een rondleiding van onze gids door het Mauritshuis.


Mooie collectie van schilderijen van schilders uit de Gouden Eeuw.


We bewonderden oa de meest bekende en geliefde schilderij van het meisje met de parel van Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandts anatomische les van dr. Tulp en de stier van Paulus Potter.





In 2019 staat Nederland in het teken van Rembrandt en de Gouden Eeuw. Aanleiding is de 350ste sterfdag van de Nederlandse schilder Rembrandt in de Gouden Eeuw. Escher in Het Paleis
Escher in Het Paleis is een kunstmuseum aan het Lange Voorhout met een permanente tentoonstelling die geheel gewijd is aan het werk van de Nederlandse Maurits Cornelis Escher.


Een mooie collectie van optische illusie. Wat ook heel mooi is, zijn de 15 kroonluchters in het paleis die ontworpen zijn door kunstenaar Hans van Bentem.


De vormen zijn geïnspireerd op het werk van Escher maar ook op het achttiende-eeuwse paleis.


De kroonluchters geven een koninklijke sfeer in het paleis.


Op de tweede verdieping zijn er veel gave optische illusie activiteiten te vinden voor jong en oud.


Ik heb me prima vermaakt daar. Het Escher in Het Paleis was het bezichtigen waard.
Dit jaar vindt er op 16 maart een museumnacht voor kids van 17.00 tot 22.00 uur plaats. Op 23 maart is er een openstelling voor blinden en slechtzienden van 09.30 tot 10.30 met een speciale rondleiding. Klik op link voor meer info en andere activiteiten https://www.escherinhetpaleis.nl/

Coffeelicious
Coffeelicious ken ik als een gezellige lunchroom aan het Lange Voorhout. Dit is ook de locatie waar we gingen lunchen.


Het merendeel van de groep koos voor saladebowl met zalm. Dit was ook mijn keuze geweest samen met mijn paarse drankje Purple Sweet Potato. Het was heerlijk.

Cool event Ice Sculptures
Na de lunch gingen we met de taxi naar onze laatste stop, Cool event Ice Sculptures. Het is een terugkerend evenement in Scheveningen. Ik heb vorig jaar cool event Ice Sculptures met aantal Instagrammers mogen bezoeken.


De ruimte waar de ijssculpturen zich bevonden was -15 graden.

De ijssculpturen met thema ‘tales of steam ice’ (verhalen over stoom ijs) waren prachtig om te zien.




Het is en blijft verbazingwekkend hoe de artiesten zo creatief kunnen zijn met grote ijsblokken en daaruit een mooie creatie kunnen maken.


Het volgende ijssculpturen evenement zal op 30 november 2019 feestelijk worden geopend. Thema van dit evenement is nog niet bekend, maar het zal weer iets spectaculair worden. Info: https://www.cooleventscheveningen.nl/

Instatour tips The Hague

Last year I attended a 2 day tour in The Hague on 15 and 16 December 2018. This two-day event was organized by Iamsterdam and The Hague marketing of Thisisthehague / Denhaag.com. Read more about the instatour tips in The Hague.

Day 1

The Indigo hotel



Indigo hotel was chosen as a meeting place. I became acquainted with the guide and the group there. We got a tour of the guide through the Gold Bar and the big safe. Read my previous report about Indigo hotel. Click on link https://marilynamaterasu.com/2019/02/04/indigo-hotel/



Royal Christmas Fair



An annual popular Christmas market on the Lange Voorhout. It is the largest and cozy Christmas market in the Netherlands. The Christmas lights and the fires everywhere make the whole atmospheric. There are several nice stalls where you can do Christmas shopping for example. Lots of live entertainment and eateries for the savory and sweet appetite. A Santa who is parading around there and where people like to take a photo with him. The Royal Chrismas Fair last December was a lot bigger than in previous years. Des Indes hotel



Hotel Des Indes is a 5-star hotel on the Lange Voorhout and was founded in 1881. It was inspired by the then famous Hotel Des Indes in the Batavia in the hope of attracting travelers from the Dutch East Indies. Many famous guests have made use of the hotel. A tour through public areas of the Indes hotel was impressive. The interior is classic with modern details. My foodie heart suddenly started to beat when I saw the gingerbread house. Walter Benedict



It was already dark and we walked towards Walter Benedict on the Denneweg 69A for the three-course dinner. Walter Benedict is a café bistro. It is a simple eatery, which is in the middle between a cafe and a restaurant. And even though it was busy and noisy on the night, the atmosphere was pleasant. The room was attractively illuminated which also gives me the feeling of being in a café. A table for 9 people was reserved for us. For the three-course dinner I chose as a starter a carpaccio with pickled fig, beetroot, fried beech mushrooms in balsamic dressing with crispy capers. Main course cod fried with short braised samphire, spinach, enoki, creamy truffle sauce & fresh antiboise with French fries. And finally a dessert consisting of a Crepe Suzette with grand marnier sauce, orange and frozen yogurt. The three-course dinner was delicious. More info: http://www.walterbenedict.nl/



After dinner I walked with the group to the Binnenhof for The Hague Highlight event 2018, Old Masters New Heroes video projection. This Hague light event was organized last year by Feest aan Zee to celebrate the 200 year old seaside resort Scheveningen. More info: https://www.feestaanzee.nl/

Day 2

The Mauritshuis



We received a tour of our guide through the Mauritshuis. Beautiful collection of paintings by painters from the Golden Age. We admired among others the most famous and beloved painting of the girl with the pearl of Johannes Vermeer, Rembrandt’s anatomical lesson of Dr. Tulp and the bull of Paulus Potter.



In 2019 marks the Rembrandt year in the Netherlands . The reason is the 350th anniversary of the death of the Dutch painter Rembrandt in the Golden Age. Escher in Het Paleis



Escher in Het Paleis is an art museum on the Lange Voorhout with a permanent exhibition devoted entirely to the work of the Dutch Maurits Cornelis Escher. A nice collection of optical illusion. What is also very beautiful are the 15 chandeliers in the palace that were designed by artist Hans van Bentem. The forms are inspired by Escher’s work but also on the eighteenth-century palace. The chandeliers give a royal atmosphere in the palace. On the second floor there are many cool optical illusion activities for young and old. I have a great time there. The Escher in Het Paleis was worth seeing.



This year there will be a museum night for kids from 17:00 to 22:00 on 16 March. On March 23 there is an opening for the blind and visually impaired from 09.30 to 10.30 with a special tour. Click on link for more info and other activities https://www.escherinhetpaleis.nl/



Coffeelicious



I know Coffeelicious as a cozy lunchroom at the Lange Voorhout. This is also the location where we went for lunch. The majority of the group opted for salad bowl with salmon. This was also my choice with my purple drink. It was delicious. My experience with Coffeelicious is very positive. Cool event Ice Sculptures



After lunch we went by taxi to our last stop, Cool event Ice Sculptures. It is a recurring event in Scheveningen. Last year I visited cool event Ice Sculptures with a number of Instagrammers. The space where the ice sculptures were located was -15 degrees. The ice sculptures with theme ‘tales of steam ice’ were wonderful to see. It is and remains amazing how the artists can be so creative with large ice blocks and make a beautiful creation from them. The next ice sculptures event will be festively opened on 30 November 2019. The theme of this event is not yet known, but it will be something spectacular again. Info: https://www.cooleventscheveningen.nl/
