Club Vers is one of those places that instantly makes you crave good food—everything is fresh, healthy, and incredibly tasty. It’s become one of my favorite hotspots in The Hague, and I find myself drawn back again and again for a leisurely, flavorful lunch.

Club Vers

Since opening its doors in April 2016, Club Vers has carved out a well-deserved reputation as a go-to spot in The Hague—conveniently located near Holland Spoor train station. The space itself has this warm, inviting atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. Whether you’re stopping by for breakfast, brunch, high tea, lunch, or drinks, there’s something comforting about the whole experience.

Something for everyone: fresh, healthy and delicious

What really sets Club Vers apart is their unwavering commitment to fresh, healthy, and genuinely delicious food. The menu leans heavily toward vegetarian and vegan dishes—which is wonderful if that’s your preference—but what’s impressive is the creativity and care that goes into every plate. The colors are vibrant, the presentation is beautiful, and everything tastes as good as it looks. Craving something with meat? They’ve got a seriously good spicy beef burger and a grilled chicken sandwich that won’t disappoint. Fish lovers will appreciate the standout spinach waffles with smoked salmon, the salmon poké bowl, or the salmon sandwich. And if you have dietary restrictions or allergies, the team will work with you to make something that works. Truly something for everyone.

Our lunch

Spinach waffle with smoked salmon and fried egg

This is the signature dish, and for good reason. The moment it arrives, you’re struck by the vibrant green of the waffle—a beautiful canvas made entirely from spinach. But here’s the magic: it’s not overpowering. The waffle itself is soft and pillowy, with just enough of that spinach flavor to add depth and nutritional goodness. Draped across the top is a silky slice of smoked salmon and a perfectly fried egg with a jammy yolk. A delicate sauce ties it all together, and when you cut into it, everything melds into this wonderfully balanced savory experience. Elegant, nourishing, and absolutely crave-worthy.

Poké bowl with salmon

A poké bowl is only as good as its core ingredients—fresh salmon, properly cooked sushi rice, and vibrant vegetables—and Club Vers nails every element. The salmon is pristine and buttery, the rice is seasoned just right with a tender bite, and the dressing brings everything together with brightness and depth. This is the kind of bowl that feels both indulgent and nourishing, the perfect lunch when you want something satisfying without feeling heavy.

Red waffle with raspberry mousse and fresh raspberries

Sweet doesn’t always mean simple, and this waffle proves it. The bright red color comes from real raspberry juice baked right into the dough—no artificial coloring here. The waffle arrives warm and soft, with that perfect just-baked texture that melts on your tongue. Piled on top is an airy raspberry mousse that’s tart enough to keep things interesting, balanced with a silky vanilla cream. There’s an elegant restraint to the sweetness; it’s rich without being cloying. Each bite is a delicate interplay of textures and flavors that feels almost too pretty to eat. Almost.

We also sampled their creative mocktails—alcohol-free but absolutely full of flavor and personality. Whether you’re avoiding alcohol, driving, or just want to taste everything the kitchen can offer, these are drinks that stand on their own. Club Vers deserves a spot on your regular rotation.
